Need lodging recommendations for Kenai Penisula

We will be spending two nights on Kenai Penisula and are looking for lodging there. We are a family of 5 w/ three children under the age of 11. We would like a hotel that has nice sized rooms, good hearty breakfasts, and a safe area for the children to play outside during our "down time".

Thanks for your suggestions.

You do realize the Kenai Peninsula is one great big area?? WHERE are you going to be??? And you are looking for 1 or 2 rooms, price range??

Since you have such specific requirements, you might want to consider visitor guides- lodging pages.

yes, of course.

we are open to where we will be located, although probably don't want to be in Homer too far from other things that we want to do. Somewhere more central would be better as we plan to do a variety of things that will bring us to different parts of the peninsula-- however, we want to unpack just once. Seward would be great if there is a place that can accommodate us well. We are open to either one or two rooms-- just depends upon the place. We have stayed in some places that can nicely accommodate 5 in one room and others in which we have needed two rooms. The number of rooms really depends upon how the rooms in the hotel/b&b, etc. is configured.

In terms of price, we have heard that it is much more expensive in Alaska than elsewhere. We would like a clean, moderately priced place.

BudgetQueen-- does this give you enough info to help us?

I would recommend basing out of Seward, since it has so much to see and do. www.seward.com

I don't have any experience with kitchens and 5 person rooms. :)

At the low price end, and definately not for everyone, but the Moby Dick Hostel is clean and comfortable. The Marina and Harborview Motels are basic. Holiday Inn is new and good reviews.

We were in Homer last year and stayed at a bed and breakfast. I would google b&b's in whatever area you are going to in Kenai. It is a large area so not sure just where you will be.
