need lodging advice in orlando
we are looking for lodging in the International Drive are near wdw, ideally under $90 per night. I realize that staying on property is ideal- but nothing is available when we plan to visit. We plan to visit The magic kingdom, animal park and marine world. International drive appears to be the logical choice. We will have our 2 year old with us, so a family attmosphere and national chain property will be ideal. Has anybody stayed in this area recently? any other tips on properties within 5 miles of wdw? Thanks!

Recently stayed at the Hampton Inn less than a mile from Universal Studios. Very good location for all the Disney stuff. $77.00 per night for a pretty peak time (between Christmas and New Year). Very good deal, great complimentary breakfast. Transportation to all Disney parks, although we didn't use since not very convenient. Nice rooms, nice pool.

We'll go with Hampton any place. It's our favorite. There are several Hamptons around Orlando, so check them all to get the best price and best location.

Have you tried calling Disney World directly? They update their cancellations in the early morning hours and almost always can find availabilty. In that price range the All-Stars would work. We love Disney's hotels.

Dear Manny,
We love staying at Westgate Vacation
Villas--condos near the gate. They are perfect for families and very new. Sometimes you must sit through a sales pitch but we didn't have to last time we went--and the price was right--less than a $100. We first learned about them because they were listed in our entertainment book.Have fun!
