Need location for 3-night trip 3 hours or less from Northern NJ

My wife, 9-year old daughter and I want to take a 3-night trip somewhere within a 3 hour drive of our home in northern/central nj in August. We would prefer to stay at a hotel with a pool in or near interesting towns. We would rather not make meals but would rent a home if it was more economical. We'd like to spend less than $200/night ideally. We aren't big beach people but would go near a beach if there were other things to do.

In the past few years, we have taken trips to Cape May, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Lancaster, PA. We might consider returning to one of these.

Thoughts?

Mystic, Connecticut is really nice...Mystic Seaport, Mystic Pizza, New England Aquarium & even a nice shopping area.

Lake George, NY is also really nice..

Hershey Park, PA is fun as well..

Near Lake Wallenpaupack is a popular family resort, though it is above your price range. You may want to check it out for midweek rates in fall when rates are less expensive.
