Liz-

Have you tried vrbo.com? They show lots of places with 5-8 bedrooms in the outer banks. You could always do two houses near one another. Be sure to check if the house is directly on the beach or if there is a large dune in the way.

You might also try the wedding site, theknot.com for catering and location ideas.

This sounds like a gorgeous wedding! My sis planned something similar in Beaufort, SC, but rented out an entire B&B.

FYI- on message boards like Fodor's, if you type in all capitals it symbolizes that you are yelling/angry.

If you use regular type and lots of short paragraphs you will get your questions out there in the most easy to read way and get more responses. Good luck!

liz, have you thought about a wedding planner? I know with our beach rentals we don't allow house parties which a wedding would fall under because of wear and tear on the house. It is actually a common rule.

A wedding planner in the area will already know of the best places and best caterers. You'll end up saving any money the planner costs you.

Liz, there are a nice selection of very large oceanfront houses in Pine Island between Corolla and Duck.

Try www.twiddy.com for a start.

When is the wedding? If it's this summer you're probably having a problem because most houses are already rented. If it's next spring or summer, there should be plenty of houses available of that size.
