Need info. on temp. in NY

I am going to New York August 29-Sept. 3rd. I would really appreciate some info. on what I can expect temperature wise for that time. I am from Louisiana so I am use to the humidity. I was just hoping it would not be quite as hot! Please advise. Thanks!

NYC temperature around labor day can be anything from 60 degrees (unlikely, but then again it's July 2nd and it was in the 50s overnight...)
to 90+
Assume it will be hazy, hot(in the 80's), humid (alaways a chance of thunderstorms in summer here) and be plesantly surprised if it turns out better.
You should always have some sort of jacket/sweater (and long pants, if you're a shorts person) when traveling to NY, even in the dead of summer (you should see have seen the shivering tourists this morning)because of our widely varying temps (not to mention overly air-conditioned restaurants, etc)
More likely than not it will be hot and humid. Suggest you post again around Aug. 27. The weather channel always provides a five day forcast so you can get an idea of what to expect.

The above posters are correct. I'll just add one point to give you a better sense of what it'll be like: No matter how hot and/or humid it gets, chances are you'll find it a relief from the typical New Orleans summer. Our weather can et hot and humid but rarely gets as overwhelming as New Orleans.

PS: If you're interested in going to the theater, that's a great weekend for having a wide choice of half-priced tickets at the TKTS booths.
