Need info on Sheratons in Florida...

I will be staying at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper in Ft. Lauderdale, the Sheraton Bal Harbour, the Sheraton Oceanfron North Palm Beach on Singer Island, the Sheraton
Laleside near Disney and the Disney Dolphin newt month. I would ;ove any feedback on any of these properties! I have heard that the Yankee Clipper might be in need of renovations...Any thoughts?

The Dolphin is supposedly a fabulous hotel. Have you looked at their website? I've been reading the message boards on how to bid at Priceline and Expedia and there are people who are getting unbelieveable deals at the Dolphin and its' sister hotel the Swan. These hotels are normally $250 and up and I've seen steals at $63-$70 per night. Am I jealous? Oh yeah!

In any case you sound like you have quite a vacation ahead of you!

I have stayed at both the Dolphin and the Sheraton Lakeside. The Dolphin is huge and convenient to the parks; however, I prefer the Lakeside, as it is less "busy".

My parents stayed at the Sherateon Bal Harbour last month and they didn't like it.
We stayed two nights at the Sheraton Bal Harbor several years ago. My greatest memory is that when we checked in there was a tray of food scraps and dishes from room service sitting on the floor two doors down from us. When we checked out two days later it was still there --never could figure out why no one would remove it.

Thanks for all of the responses! If you have more specific details I'd love to hear them! Noah - why didn't your parents enjoy the Bal Harbour? Any info on these properties or surrounding restaurants or attractions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just back from a stay at the Sheraton on Singer Island. Hotel is beachfront with nice furnishings, linens/curtains that appear to be new. I found the beds too hard, though my husband thought they were okay. Views were great from our 8th floor, north-facing room. Views to east good too, of course. Would not recommend lower floors facing south--there's some sort of generator visible from there. Never tried their restaurant, though we found a fantastic restaurant called the Surfside Grill (now renamed Hurricane Grill, though old sign is still up) on route 1 in Juno Beach, and Dune Dog on Alt A1A in Jupiter also very good, though more casual. Not used to staying in American hotels, the $6.00 daily parking fee and the $30.00 daily charge for two chairs and umbrella on the beach really annoyed us. Other than that, really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the Sheraton Bal Harbour this past March..Although the hotel is in a good quiet location, I had some problems with my stay.
I am a platinum member with Starwoods(who manages sheraton as part of their chain) and didn't receive any recognition at all.
Further, be fore warn about the mini-bars..I never use the mini-bars at the hotels, and when I checked out, I made sure there was no charge for it. When I got home and received my AMEX statement, they had added a $350 charge for minibars!!!
Someone came into my room after I checked out and emptied the minibar.
I posted this to another board, and apparently this has happened to others before, and the cause might very be problems within their own staff, rather than strangers sneaking into the hotel, if you know what I mean. So I would suggest that you decline the keys to the mini-bar if possible. If not, watch out for your prosessions at all times..Use the hotel safe whenever possible.
