Need Info on Deerfield Beach Florida
 

Anyone know any info about Deerfield Beach Florida? I got asked to go there for vacation and I know nothing about the area. Any info on beaches and stuff would be appreciated.<BR><BR>Thanks

Deerfield Beach is a small city in between Boca Raton and Ft Lauderdale. Will you be staying on the beach? If so, there's a great little hole in the wall restaurant called The Whale's Rib. They are a local favorite for fresh seafood and "whale fries", which are homemade potato chips.....yum! For night life, you will probably head down to Ft Lauderdale's Las Olas Blvd or Riverwalk areas or to Mizner Park in Boca Raton. You will need a car to get around since South Florida's mass transit is practically non-existent.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites there and it was very nice. We usually stay in the Fort Lauderdale beach area which is fairly close and offers a lot more dining and nightlife. As Lenore has stated, a car is essential.

Dina, I have heard the Embassy Suites was nice. A travel agent suggested I stay there versus Ft. Lauderdale. I didn't, I stayed in FLL. so I cannot vouch for it myself. Yes you will need a car to get around.

Hi,<BR>My grandfather lived in Deerfield and my uncle always stayed in the La Quinta in Deerfield. It's pretty basic, but guess it was ok! It's about 10 minutes west of the beach, near I95.<BR><BR>I agree w/ Lenore's advice. Do have lunch at the Whale's Rib idea . You can walk off the beach, get a bite and go right back to sunbathing! I always get the smoked fish dip--it's a very Florida thing! <BR><BR>Debbie
