Need Ideas for Mornings in NYC
Help - please !! I'm going to NYC in several weeks. I'm staying near Radio City. It seems most museums don't open until 10:00 or 10:30 and I'd like to find things to do (if possible) before they open. Any ideas?
Also, I'm leaving NYC at 2:00 PM from Laguardia. Any ideas on something good to do that morning and still have time to get from Radio City to the airport? Any help will really be appreciated. |
Do you have any interest in the Today show? You can walk over to Rockefeller Center and watch the hosts in the plaza, maybe stop into Dean & Deluca for coffee and a pastry? If you go to D&D and it looks very crowded, there is an upstairs seating area.
You could also go for a nice walk through Central Park, or Window shop along 5th Ave. |
thanks Margie. I LOVE Dean & Deluca (unfortunately)

The Metropolitan Museum opens at 9:30 a.m. A stroll through Central Park heading towards the museum would be a good way to start that day.

You could always take the Staten Island ferry out to see the Statue of Liberty. Also- I think some of the around Manhattan boat rides start early.

If it's good weather rent a bike and take a ride in Central Park.
Head down to Balthazar in Soho and have a great breakfast. In fact, that's really what you can do every morning. Pick a different neighborhood to visit, have breakfast and then have a walk around. If you're going to be here before the end of the month, I think the hop on/off water taxi will still be running. Take a boat ride early. Maybe head over to Brooklyn and walk the Brooklyn Bridge. (have breakfast at Bubby's in Brooklyn first). |
