Jen, you can't go wrong with McDonald's or, for a little variety, Long John Silver's.

Jennifer,
Here are some suggestions:
Casa de Pico in Old Town. It's in the middle of the Bazaar del Mundo with lots of colorful shops, a fountain and sometimes live music to entertain. They have a large patio and you will see lots of small children esp. late afternoon, early evening.

The Poseidon in Del Mar. A casual seafood restaurant located on the sand of a nice beach. The large patio overlooking the ocean is ideal for little ones. There is also a great park down the street with stunning ocean views and a playground.

Corvette Diner in Hillcrest (near the zoo and Balboa Park). Loud 50's and 60's music, colorful walls/artwork and wisecracking waitstaff make this a popular place for families with small children. They have good burgers and sandwiches, excellent milkshakes.

Have fun.

Thank you Sandy

Jennifer,
Lotsa Pasta on Garnet -about a mile from Pacific Beach has great food and prices - you get to choose from around 20 different sauces - then choose the pasta etc. The toddlers could split a meal.
Also Soup and Salad on Sports Arena Blvd. is inexpensive and healthy.
Good Luck ! Ken

Rubios... located downtown. Someone will need to help me. I just remember it was up the street from the Hard Rock and across the street from the downtown shopping center. Right it the middle of evertything..It is counter service Mexican food, but VERY VERY good. We ate there 3 different times because it fit our budget and was a quick place to grab good food. They have a beautiful salt water aquarium your toddler would love. And, the people watching is great! Grab a table by the window....

We just returned from San Diego so here is another vote for Casa di Pico in Old Town. We also loved the Spaghetti Factory in the Gas Lamp District. Fun atmosphere and good prices.

I think that the Corvette Diner in the trendy Hillcrest area is fun for kids and adults - great burgers & fries, hopping music, and bazooka gum at the end!
