Need ideas for 3 day much needed vacation
Hi everyone,
Hubby and I are looking for somewhere nice to go for 3-4 days in May. Would love to go back to Mexico (been to Cozumel), but we just came off of a 2 week trip to Russia in November for an adoption, and quite frankly are not ready to tackle international again just yet (language barriers, currency conversions, serious cultural differences, etc.) Looking for somewhere new, relaxing, and have a budget that will allow some luxury, but nothing crazy. Places we've been are Key West, New Orleans, San Antonio, Chicago, DC/Baltimore, Atlanta. Thanks!!

Suggestions: Northern California, San Juan, St Thomas, St John, Wyoming, Washington State, Maine, Florida, The Carolinas, are all spectacular places to be in during spring.

Aquaria,

For a relaxing short break, how about Taos NM, Big Sur CA, Seaside FL (in FL panhandle), or Outer Banks NC (specifically, the Sanderling Inn in Duck)?

Charleston, SC. The historic area is pretty compact and easy to navigate on foot. You can visit a plantation or two, and the beach isn't far off. There's a lot to see in 3-4 days. Also, Charleston has lots of upscale lodging, dining, and shops.

First off, congratulations with your adoption and recent addition to your family. What an exciting and reqarding reason to travel to Russia. Just out of curiousity, how was the process? Would you attempt it again? I only ask because I've been looking into foreign adoption and keep hearing horror stories about the process in China.

As for your travel question, maybe a weekend in the San Juan Islands off of Seattle would be a lovely place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Las Vegas can actually be relaxing and enjoyable if you choose the right hotel. Bellagio and the Venetian would both provide you with the luxury and relaxation that you require.

Where are you located? If you are on the East Coast, I suggest Bermuda, Puerto Rico or the outer banks of North Carolina.

Since I'm always promoting the west coast---Sonoma Wine Country, Santa Barbara and its wine country, Big Sur/Cambria/Hearst Castle, Carmel/Monterey, Seattle, Sedona, Yosemite, San Antonio, Santa Fe. Never been here, but someone has just strongly recommended the Texas Hill Country or Galveston--we want to try it. Sanibel Island. Charleston. It's a wonderful time of year to travel, let us know what you decide.

How about a 3 or 4 day cruise. You can do as much (get off the boat and sightsee) or as little (stay on the boat and veg out) as you want.
