Need hotel with pool near aquarium in Atlanta

Going in August on business. Would love to have a nice pool to enjoy during this steamy trip. Also, plan to visit the Aquarium (2nd time) and maybe the botanicals or the zoo, and the fox theater. That is about all I will have time for. Anybody have an idea where I should stay?

The Embassy Suites on Centennial Park has a nice pool. A one block walk to the Aquarium. This hotel also has a Ruth Chris steakhouse. Eating in is an option.

That looks good, thanks. Do you know anything about the JW Marriott or Intercontinental?

The Marriott Marquis is a very nice hotel. Close to alot of things.

bugswife1, both the JW Marriott and the Intercontinental are great hotels. They are in Buckhead. Do you want to stay downtown? If you do want to stay in Buckhead, the Marriott, Intercontinetal and Grand Hyatt come up often on priceline. Go to biddingfortravel.com and see what recent accepted bids have been.

bugswife1, the Marriott Atlanta Downtown, two blocks from the Aquarium, has a pool, and is offering a pkg. with two aquarium tickets, deluxe room, two buffet breakfasts, free parking for $189/night. It gets good reviews on TripAdvisor. If we travel South in the next month, I'm going to try that one. Have a great trip ... :)

bugs & elsie, the Marriott Marquis has the same package starting at $199. Sounds like a great deal for me...parking is like $22 and breakfast for 2 is probably $30...not sure how much acquarium tickets are...but, it does sound like a great deal.

Adult tkts for the aquarium are $22...Consider staying in Midtown too...

Well, I agree with OWJ. Sounds like Midtown is the best place to be. I prefer to stay there over Downtown and you can zip down to the Aquarium via MARTA. Piedmont Park and GREAT restaurants are around the corner.

The Sheraton will be closed (becoming a W), but the Wyndham, Marriott and, of course, the Four Seasons are great options.

Midtown is really booming and becoming a great end destination. It is much more pedestrian than Buckhead and there are much more options of things to do at day and night than Downtown. I would (and do) walk around Midtown at night and prefer not to do that in Downtown. You're going to need a car to get around Buckhead.
