need hotel info on SF asap

Ok, I'm cutting close to my
arrival at san francisco.

Are there any suite hotels
anyone stayed in either downtown,
or a bit away but within BART
access?

Is Marin a good nearby place to
stay and does it have BART access?

I'm specifically interested in suites
like Marriott's or Mainstay or Embassy
that are under $150 per night, but
must be in good location.

Any help appreciated.

Under $150 per night? Good Luck. We have Marriots in town and you may be able to get a deal now that business travel has decreased. In Marin there is an Embassy Suites or something similar right off the highway.

well, what is wrong with
the hotels near the SF airport?
They are a bit lower in price and
of course, not in the attraction area,
but are they connected to the
transit service?? If so, then
isn't it a quick hop via a bus
to the attractions?
Thanks

Please - do a search - this topic has been covered four times in the last week. Yes, there is transportation from airport hotels to SF - it just takes a while to go back and forth. Plus, the public transportation does not run all night. The hotels are fine - there are every chain located by the airport. Just be aware, it is not NEAR anything and it takes about 25 minutes go get into the city (sometimes longer). Marin is on the other side of the bridge. As another poster said, BART will take you from suburbs to the city e.g., OAK-SF. Seriously, please do a search; there are many people who have answered this and there are many websites within the answers that have been posted in answer to SF questions this week.

Anne Marie, You might consider staying in Emeryville. It is across the bay between Oakland and Berkeley. A few hotels have opened in last few months - Courtyard by Marriott and The Woodfin Suite Hotel. My mother stayed at Woodfin a few weeks ago and it was about $130 a night, and included a complete kitchenette, a balcony, couch, a pool, ect... It was a great value for the money, depending on the length of stay and your plans, the kitchenette could save you a lot of money. Emeryville is a SHORT bus trip to Macarthur BART station and that can take you directly into San Francisco. Good luck.
