Need hotel for 1 nite Honolulu

We'll be flying into Honolulu about 7-8 pm after a long, long day of traveling. We'll need something clean and affordable for a family of 3. I looked for a Hampton Inn, but no such thing there. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Are you going to be flying out again to one of the other islands, or somewhere, the next day? I stayed at the Best Western which is about 5 or 10 minutes from the airport; they have a free shuttle bus. It was reasonably priced and quite pleasant, but I wouldn't have stayed there for any length of time; it was just a matter of convenience to the airport. Still, for what it was, it was fine.

We'll be flying to the big island the following morning, so something easy would be best. Definately like the idea of a free shuttle.

Hi, Wendee - in that case I would think the Best Western would suit you perfectly. The only almost-glitch was that the front desk clerk told us that we could catch the 9:30 shuttle bus for our 10:15 flight - we should have taken the earlier one at 9. But we caught the flight anyway, on time. It's quite a nice hotel.

Try the Ilikai Renaissance at the very end of Waikiki. I was able to book it through Priceline.com for $100 a night. Better than a Hampton Inn and 100 yards from Waikiki Beach.
