need hotel advice

too many choices for hotels in New York, Roosevelt, Kimberley, Affinia, Avalon, Hilton or Paramount. Anybody out there who has stayed at any of these hotels??

We stayed at the Sofitel over the memorial weekend. The hotel is on a quite street near time square, about a 7 minute walk from rockefeller center. We loved the hotel, very quiet rooms. One of the few hotels I have ever stayed at where you do not hear the people next to you or above your take a shower, etc. Good quality towels, sheets, blankets. I highly recommend it.

There are a million threads on hotels in NYC.

The ones you listed are all over the map - and not just literally. To give any useful advice please tell us - your budget, dates of travel, who/how many you are and what type of locale/hotel you are looking for (or what types of things you will be doing/going to).

(ie - do you want traditional or modern? big hotel or small? neighborhood? one bed for two people? is room size important?)

You also need advice about the title on your thread. "Need hotel advice" could be anywhere in the world. When you created this thread, you saw

Make your message easy to find: Give it a clear, identifying title, and pick the most accurate search topic

And while you may have clicked on NY for the search topic, we readers of the USA message area see only the vague "need hotel advice" subject. It's very likely some people who could answer your questions skipped right over the thread, while others have wasted our time clicking on it and cannot help. Good luck.

Christa, you can also go to tripadvisor.com and read reviews of these hotels. I always check this in addition to this forum as the reviews there are also written by people who have stayed there and they will tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly! When are you planning ot travel?

Not only the above but this is your 3rd post on this subject in the last 10 days or so.

Get a clue woman!
