Need help with St. Louis hotel

I'm going to my class reunion next month, and am looking for a good hotel- would love 4 stars- in an area where I can walk around to shopping, etc. My reunion is actually in IL, but would rather stay in the city.

Thanks much,
Betsy

My favorite hotel is Cupples Station that looks down on the Cardinals' stadium. It was a Westin when I stayed there.

This hotel is awesome. The room itself I had at Cupples Station was the best room I've ever had personally, IMHO, esthetically in my life. The visuals were phenomenal. And ironically I got it on Priceline. But I would pay for that one gladly.

Windows were about 15 feet high and the bathroom was black marble with cabinetry beyond description and the bathroom had a "window" into the bedroom. Kind of a eclectic art deco, but more modern and exquisite. The shower was big enough for ballroom dancing. LOL!

We walked to many areas from this hotel and to the arch etc.

The Chase Park Plaza in the Central West End is another possibility. You can visit the shops and galleries along Euclid Ave. Some very nice restaurants for dining in the area: Eau, Balaban, Moxy's and Chez Leon to name a few.

I've stayed one time at the St Louis Westin in the Cupples Station area. It is a gorgeous hotel. However there's not much shopping nearby. Union Station is 2 Metro stops away, but it's mostly souvenir shops these days.
