need help with my Honeymoon
 

Hello all,
I am trying to plan a honeymoon and I need help. I am getting married in September and our budget is limited as we are saving for a home. We are not very picky about where we go we love small towns and antique stores both of which we can find anywhere in the country. Any advice form the more experienced traveler would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.

Where do you live? if we know that, perhaps we can suggest places within driving distance, to save you the cost of airfare.

We live in Kansas and we like to drive, at 6'4 I am not much for being shoved into an air plane seat.

I'm not sure about the driving distance, but Pennsylvania Dutch country <http://www.padutchcountry.com/> (Lancaster County) might be worth a look.

It seems to meet your requirements of not being terribly expensive and has the small towns and antique stores you mention. September should be a very nice time to visit!

Thanks for the tip on the Amish country I will ahve to look into it. Have any thoughts on B&B's? I have always stayed in hotels.

How 'bout Minnesota? Stillwater has lots of antique stores, and it's about a 7-8 hour drive from Kansas City (not sure where in Kansas you are). You could combine that with a trip up to the North Shore - Duluth is about 2.5 hours from Stillwater, and from there the scenery is great along the shore of Lake Superior.

How about the Rockies? Denver is only a day's drive away; from there you could stay in Georgetown, or Golden, or Boulder, or Estes Park, or any of a dozen other towns in or next to these peaks. Choose a cabin far from anybody, and you'll have a perfect, economical start to your marriage.

Can't suggest any place specific; when we've gone to the Rockies it's either been camping or paid by someone else.

After looking over everyone’s advice I think that we will end up going to Hot Springs Ark. While that was not suggested by any of you we did get some great ideas for future vacations. Thanks again for all of the help.
