Four nights is a nice period of time for Las Vegas.

My DH has a conference about every other year in December in Las Vegas and the temperatures can vary. I remember one evening when I had on my winter coat and was really COLD and other times that it wasn't so bad. I second the idea of checking weather.com. In any case, be sure you take a coat and put some gloves in the pockets just in case.

Anything you want to wear is pretty much OK these days. Some people dress up for shows, but it isn't required.

The gondola ride at the Venetian is cute. We've never ridden it, but if you think it would be fun, go for it. You might enjoy sitting in St. Mark's Square at the end and relaxing and having a gelato.

Or (or in addition), you might want to enjoy the fountains at the Bellagio. They also have gelato right inside their entrance.

To me, the most fun thing is to walk the strip and check out all the different sites -

Bellagio - fountains, conservatory, glass sculptured ceiling in the check-in area
Venetian- murals, gondalo,
Mirage - volcano
Paris - streetscape
Caesar's Palace -
Alladin - shopping area
etc., etc., etc.

My family enjoys the buffets, mostly because everyone can get exactly what he or she wants when he or she wants it. I like to eat my salad first, DH eats it after his entree. Two of us love the shrimp, two think it's a waste. We can all sample many things, and don't have to commit to a dish that we may or may not like. We took our 16yo son to the Paris buffet for his birthday and he is still talking about it.

Bellagio buffet is a must.

If you want to enjoy some of the best Thai food in the US go to Lotus of Siam on East Sahara.

The best of the buffets are reportedly the ones at Bellagio, the Le Village Buffet at Paris, and the Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood. I can only vouch for the middle one of these, which was excellent. Whether you can eat enough to make the expense worthwhile is another question.

traveler2005 put up some good suggestions. Others worthy options would include the Auto Collection at the Imperial Palace, Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage, and the Liberace Museum. Check the hours for all these attractions, as they may or may not be open that time of year.

I just got back from Vegas and the temperatures were in the low 70's in the day and the upper 40's to low 50's at night.

It was warm enough in the day to wear a short sleeve but not at night.

From what I gather, the temps were slightly above normal. Normal highs are around 60 this time of year (that's what the weather reporters said).

I would plan for long sleeve in the day and sweater/light jacket at night.

Keep in mind the casinoes are 72 degrees year round and the dry air makes any temperature tolerable. Vegas is always nice to visit.

Wow, I don't really think you need any help then....the "My life is not that interesting" doesn't seem quite fitting with these stories!

Yikes, you response to those offers just brought back a memory....in New Orleans nonetheless. I accompanied a male friend into one of those "interesting" places on Bourbon street. A young man came up to me and was doing something, I can't even remember what. I was a bit perplexed....was it dancing for me?!! My friend said something like he wants to be paid to dance for you (I guess that's his job). I replied indignantly "he should pay ME to dance for him!"

He looked like any guy on the street who would be harrassing me for attention, and I should pay HIM?!!!

Just wanted to post a big thank you to everyone who has posted with advice on this thread, it's really helped my planning! Less than 3 weeks left until I leave and I'm soooo excited!

We're definitely going to do the buffet at the Bellagio. We're also going to do the gondola ride. I think we'll have breakfast or lunch at the Paris buffet because I looked at the virtual tour of it on the Paris website and it looks sooo cute that I have to check it out :)
