With the price of gas, public transportation is something he should seriously look into and get to know. He could always buy a Vespa.

Is there a reason you topped this thread from May?

Orlando_Vic Sep 13th, 2007 07:49 AM

paula1470-

Yes there is a reason why I have topped this thread.

Over three months ago, ljc4creb posted the same request and received many good responses and suggestions. They are still valid. There is no need to put people through the same drill because these suggestions were not pursued and school is about to begin!

I didn't see the other post so it didn't make sense that you topped it. You are absolutely right-no need to give the same suggestions again. Can't believe her son doesn't have housing and school is starting. Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

Makes you wonder if it's a troll post.

paula1470 Sep 13th, 2007 10:51 AM

Not a troll-the OP posts alot mostly on the Europe Board. Just someone who procrastinates!! You would think since the OP frequently posts on Fodors, she would know just to resurrect the old thread.

WOW and ouch! So sorry to have re-posted. Had a roommate through an acquaintance but when my son went out there recently, the situation was not as planned. To say I panicked is an understatement. With a short time to make all new plans, we had a lot to deal with. Over the phone and internet, we were just looking frantically and I didn't look at my other post. Without explaning all life details and stress, his time to move is the same time I will be traveling out of the country for the first time. Lot to deal with. However, I NEVER procrastinate Paula so that is probably why this situation didn't sit well with me. What the heck is a troll post? I have rec'd more than enough help and kindness on this site so snippy comments and accusations (besides being rude) are a ridiculous waste of one's time here.

Wow-ljc-seems like you are the one being rude and making accusations. Sounds like you had a difficult situation so I can understand the stress you are under. I am often a procrastinator and being called that has never hurt my feelings!! If you have been on this board any length of time, you know that many people wait until the last minute and then want help. Maybe if you had explained the situation in your new post that would have made more sense. Plus if your son had already had a roommate that didn't work out, you would have been somewhat familiar with the area.

A troll is a new poster who posts a question that is not serious or meant to stir things up. I am not sure why you were accused of being a troll. I was just sticking up for you and now my feelings are hurt! LOL

Good luck with your son finding an apartment.
