Need help finding...

My grandkids 4,5 and 7 love to play in the creek, my adult kids (6) love to stay in cabins, I love a swimming pool. Can anyone think of a place where we can stay together (11) and have what we want? Would love to stay in Texas but will travel to Oklahoma or Arkansas.

My family has always enjoyed McKinney Falls State Park near Austin. Their cabins are large and there is a lot to do in the park. Here is a link to the website: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/f...ckinney_falls/

Have you looked at Wimberley?

Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. Creek is seasonal or when it is rainy. It is dry at some point during the summer, but just depends on when and how much rain.

Let me suggest this, since you mention kids playing in a creek. The very best place on the planet for this is at The Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. There are cabins there. There is a thermal fed swimming pool an hours drive away. The best time to go is the last couple of weeks in May or the first couple weeks in June. The creek is very shallow and the sand has a way of allowing the flow to come in small waves. Totally amazing. And if that weren't enough you have the tallest sand dunes in North America to play in too.
