Need help choosing DC hotel
I will be traveling to Washington, DC this coming week 12/8 - 12/12 on a last minute getaway my wife. I am looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a nice safe area that is close to Metro, and where we would be able to walk to some restaurants at night. We are not big on nightlife. It would also be nice if it wan't too noisy. My wife is a light sleeper. I have it narrowed down to these hotels based on reviews:
Jurys Washington Jurys Normandy Hamilton Crowne Plaza Lincoln Suites Best Western New Hampshire Hotel Washington Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. We will be there strictly for sightseeing, monuments and Smithsonian during the daytime, and having a good dinner and maybe a little store browsing at night, then back to the hotel. Thanks! |
We stayed at the BW NH Suites and found it a bit seedy. Also, it's a smallish building and half the rooms face a busy street.

You can't get good location without it being potentially noisy, since you are in a city after all. That said, it's not like any of them are on top of a 24-hour hip hop club or construction site.
Jury's Washington seems to be the best overall location. The others are in fine, but less interesting, neighborhoods. |
I agree: all your choices are acceptable but Jury's Washingtons' location is tops.
