You should have started planning this MUCH earlier. If you can't put some time and effort in to create a special honeymoon for your new bride, why did you get married in the first place?

The Hyatt is very new, so hopefully someone on the board has stayed there and can provide a referral.

What I can advise is that it is very different to stay in or out of Manhattan. You will have to take Path from Midtown to either the Pavonia or Grove Street stop, neither of which are within comfortable walking distance to the Hyatt in cold weather. There is also the ferry, but once again, you are looking at from Colgate or Hoboken, which are even farther from Jersey City than the Path stations.

I also have only taken into consideration that you will use public transportation. A cab or private car between Jersey City & midtown will eat your budget for every penny it can get.

If you plan on spending long days in Manhattan seeing the sites, you may want to consider your option in Manhattan as a convenience. It will afford you the greatest flexibility for an open itinerary.
I just saw a review yesterday on the Travel Channel series Great Hotels about The Time. It was rated very high and looked fabulous. Based on their review, I wouldn't hesitate staying there. Personally, I would rather stay in NY than Jersey City. Congratulations and good luck!

You are such a jerk, "youre", that you didn't notice Aris DID plan ahead--he has 2 reservations, and wants to know which to keep. Aris, please ignore the rude posts here, the kids are home for Christmas break and think they're being very clever. I suggest doing a search here--there have been discussions of romantic nightspots and retaurants in NYC, for xmas and otherwise. Congratulations, and enjoy your honeymoon!
