Need for GPS on BI and Kauai
 

I get the impression that it would not be necessary to take a GPS for BI and Kauai. Right? A map should suffice??

If you have one, take it along.

If you don't, those trips are not the reason for buying one.

There is basically one main road circling the island of Kauai. I have never heard of anyone getting lost. What are you going to do with a GPS except worry that someone will break into your car and take it?

Why on earth? It's rather hard to get lost on either island unless you deliberately wander off the Alak'i Swamp trail.

If you want a toy, bring a toy.

Remember: You are on an island and you can't get off. A map should be fine.
