Oh - and hte Guggenheim is on the upper east side while Ellis Island is (that is an island in the harbor). They are many miles apart and neither anywhere near Penn Station.
If you want to visit Ellis Islnd you should get ferry tickets in advance to get a time that you want. Be aware that the lines can be very long - and in addition to a ticet buyers line the Park Service suggestsallowing 45minutes for the security line (like airline security) toboard the ferry.

There's no real reason to stay near Penn Station if your only reason is you are taking the train. You can get a cheap cab to much better areas.
As others have said, your price point is confusing. If it truly is $130, then you are going to have a really difficult time finding anything in Sept. If it is 1300, the sky is the limit.

Just curious, of all the museums in NYC, why did you chose the Guggenheim?
I am full agreement, with everyone. There is no compelling reason to stay near Penn Station. A $15 cab ride to another hotel would liven your stay.

The Frank Lloyd Wright design has been something I wanted to see. . If you would, Discovery Times Square is something I would like to see too and Central Park. Is anything central or close to each other Thanks for the quick response. This is a real value to be able to get reliable information. Do you recommend another museum?
Thanks

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA( Museum of Modern Art), and the Frick should be included. The Metropolitan the Frick are next to Central Park, and MoMA is a short walk from it.
I always get out of Penn Station as quickly as possible and agree that you should not stay in that area.

Hi
Ok So in my price range, should Times Square E or W be my goal for a hotel ? MOMA,Frick and Central Park sound doable on this trip.
Any recommendations for a hotel near?
Thank You

If you want to do museums and Central Park you shuoldn't be looking at Times Square. the upper west side is much closer to most of what you want to see and do, is a much more pleasant area, and has a host of good inexpensive restaurants of every possible ethnicity (Times Square specializes in high budget places plus very overpriced branches of the same awful chain places you will find at the local mall.)
Have a look at the following:
Beacon
Excelsior
Lucerne
On the Ave

Hi
Hi
I love the architecture of the Guggenheim being a Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob visitor and just FLW in general also visted Taliesin West. We booked at On the Avenue after a little guidance. Decided it was much improved on our original plan. I have MS and paint a little so I like art too. The price was good and so was location. I can relax a little now.Booked 17 Sept to 20 Sept checkout.
Thank You
