Need cheap, clean hotel in Nashville

We are taking a road trip soon from Atlanta to Washington, MO. We need a clean, safe, cheap hotel for just one night, somewhere in the Nashville, TN area. We would like to keep the cost about $75, as we are just looking for a place to sleep and shower (one that doesn't creep me out).

I have been doing my homework, but can't find anything with decent reviews. Does anyone have a good recommendation??? I don't want to prepay room.

Thanks.

See if there is a Fairfield Inn by Marriott in the area. Often in the $75 range. Be sure and inquire about weekend, senior or AAA rates. Keep in mind room rate includes breakfast. Always clean and safe, Fairfields are a no risk destination.

I think my DH and DD stayed at a Comfort Inn near Music Row. They said it was basic, clean and just fine. I'll see if I can find more info about it.

I live in Nashville and so haven't stayed in hotels here, but do have one possible option for you. There are lots of hotels in Nashville, but if you're wanting to stay right off the interstate (I assume you're coming via I-24), you might also check out Murfreesboro instead. It's about 30 minutes southeast of Nashville and I-24 runs right through it.

Friends of ours just recently stayed at Best Western Airport Inn, said it was clean, in a quiet area set a bit away from the Nashville airport, and CHEAP! They called it a big step up from the Motel 6, at the same price.

I know you said you don't want to prepay but if you change your mind, I just got a three star in Nashville on Priceline for $55.00.

I'm with cd...I also got a 3* in Nashville for $55. We got the Doubletree Inn & Suites out near the airport. It was great.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, everybody. I will take a closer look at the Best Western, and I will also focus more on Murfreesboro. We are traveling with another party who has budget concerns so I am determined to get the most for the least and still keep us all safe and sound. I just may have to go the Priceline route if nothing else pans out.

Thanks again!
