Need Burbank Take out for New Year's Eve
I am arriving on Amtrak at 6;39 PM on New Year's Eve and am not interested in watching football with the family at a random bar until the wee hours. I'd much rather head to the hotel ( Springhill Suites at 549 S. San Fernando Blvd.) with some kind of scrumptious take out!
Would love recommendations for Chinese or other things ( like dessert) you might recommend that wouldn't be too far out of the way.I need my beauty sleep to wake up bring and early for the Rode Parade in the morning! So excited, I've lived in Califonia my entire life and have never been! Favorites? |
Would P.F. Chang do for your Chinese fix? (Burbank is a wasteland for authentic Chinese food.)
501 East Magnolia Blvd. http://www.burbanktowncenter.com/directory I was going to recommend Porto's Bakery for dessert, but I see they'll be closed by the time your train arrives. Too bad. It's heavenly. Have a great time at the parade! It should be a beautiful day, if rather chilly at the start of the parade... |
Thanks Jean... P.F. Chang will be just fine, rather than heading elsewhere in holiday traffic. Normally Id head to downtown Montrose or even into La Canada but tomorrow night I just don't feel like venturing out. I'm trying to learn my limits!
Thanks so much for your quick reply. |
SpringHill Suites is in a bit of a no-man's zone as far as walking in the evening, but you could get downtown quite easily. Mama Hong's Vietnamese is very popular and Chadaka Thai is good, too.
Masis (Armenian) Bakery might be open late, get a Florentine...a fruit tart in a chocolate-dipped sesame shell. The photo does not do it justice: http://masisbakery.com/index.php?productID=36 |
Just a general rec: I've found that some of the high-end supermarkets have takeout food bars that rival many of the restaurants, and easily match the quality of a PF Chang's. I can't speak specifically for Burbank, but it's something worth looking into if restaurants aren't nearby or convenient.
