Need Affordable Hotel in NYC
 

I will need to block out about 15 rooms in NYC in mid-August. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel in NYC (preferably in midtown) with a room rate of under $200?

What general location?

Midtown (in the 40's or 50's)/Midtown East would be okay, as long as the neighborhood is decent at night. Thanks.

Andrea, there is a Courtyard by Marriott on 3rd Avenue in the East 50s that I believe is in your price range. 212-644-9600. <BR>Ask if they have a group rate.

Andrea: <BR> <BR>I know groups who have had luck at The Shelburne at 37th and Lex (I see it is just outside the area you mentioned), which is in Murray Hill -- a pleasant, safe neighborhood.

Try the Loews Hotel on 51st and Lex. It is decent and rates should be about $180. <BR> <BR>

Stayed at the Best Western on 48 st (just a couple of blks from Letterman) a year or so ago for around $125.00. Small rooms but clean, safe, and very very conviently located.

Try Cosmopolitan Hotel at 95 W. Broadway and Chambers St. Recently renovated. Attached bathrooms. Clean, spacious. Booked it from hotelconxions.com for only $89 per night. A real steal in downtown New York! And it'll save you a LOT!
