Previously posted but now changing plans.
Husband & myself would like to take a trip up US1 after a wedding in Dana Point.
We have decided that we would like to see the following and have NO IDEA how many nights we should stay or how long the trip will take, so we can book our return flight.
Like to go to:
Santa Barbara-Is there alot to see there?
Hearst Castle
Redwoods
Big Sur
Carmel
Monterey
Did we miss anything?
We have 3 or 4 nights to do this is and can't decide how long the distance is so we can book the rooms and flight.
Also, would like to stay in Pacific Coast is that a good area to stay?
Also if we drove back down from Monterey to Long Beach or LA to fly out on 101 is that a long trip?
Sorry this is so long but were VERY confused and any help is GREATLY appreciated....
Lodging and restaurant recommedations would be great.. THANKS SO MUCH..................

You might want to rent a car one-way and fly home out of San Jose or San Francisco. This qualifies as a round trip from most cities. What city are you flying in from, are you planning to fly into Orange County, San Diego or Los Angeles?

Were planning on flying into Long BEach from JFK New York.
Want to take Jet Blue back to NY BUT the flight times STINK from San Jose.
Could fly out of Oakland but then would want to go to San Francisco.

Couldn't be worse than driving back on 101 to LA (6 hrs,I think if no LA traffic)

If you miss commute traffic, Oalkand is just 1 hr from San Jose.

So I could just go right to Oakland from Monterey?
Can you tell me how many nights you think I would need at each stop?
