Need advice re: Chicago, please!
 

The company I work for is planning to bring a live theatrical production to Chicago. We could use advice re: the timing.

Is opening around Labor Day a bad idea? I think Chicago in September would be great, but is October preferable?

Indoor or Outdoor?

Indoor...musical theatre.

It probably doesn't make much difference, but October seems to always be a bigger travel month and perhaps it would be a bigger month for theatre.

To add to the above post, Chicago is a huge convention town and Sept-Thanksgiving is the busiest time for this. You may not be able to find a locale until fall of 2006 or 2007. Some of the bigger shows will book conventions up to 8 years in advance and book out popular venues.

October is beautiful in Chicago.

Sam1628, just curious what type of musical is it? Large scale ? small theater? What type of audence are you looking for? I would start earlier, rather than later.
