Need advice on where to eat!
Leaving for a six day trip to D.C. next week. It's the second trip for us, so I actually know my way around a little. I am wondering if anyone can recommend good places to eat. We'd LOVE to try a good seafood place one night and are open to trying any other good places. We like to try different foods when on vacation. We would like something not too dressy as I'm assuming we'll be in jeans most of the time. We'd like something fairly easy to find--maybe near main attractions. Also any suggestions for lunch places would be wonderful, too--definitely near main attractions (Art museum, museum of natural history, Georgetown, Bureau of Engraving, etc.). Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Tia

P.S. Have not been to Georgetown yet. Can anyone tell me what kind of shopping they have? People keep telling me it's a good place to shop.

Cafe Atlantico on 8th ST, NW. Great tapas style brunch. For one price you get to sample nearly the entire menu. Great music and food!

I went to look up the address of an Ethiopian place I had tried in the Adams-Morgan, thinking I'd suggest that block, as it has a wealth of interesting ethnic restaurants. By chance my search linked me to a list someone created of DC area ethinc dining options. It's an amazingly detailed list with recommended restaurants and specific dishes or parts of the menus to stick to. Certainly way too much on it for a short trip but you might find a couple winners - it's worh looking at

http://www.gmu.edu/jbc/Tyler/ethnic.html

Seafood - try Johnny's Half Shell on P Street in Dupont Circle. There are other very good seafood places, but I don't think you'd feel comfortable in jeans. If you want something a little fancier, DC Coast and Oceannaire are great.

You might also like Jaleo (tapas, 7th Street, near MCI center).

Ethiopian restaurants are all over the place - several great ones in Adams Morgan. My favorite is Meskerem on 18th Street. That street has lots of good options, and most are fairly casual.
