Need Advice For Maine

I'm going to Maine in May 3-6. I'm planning on getting there Friday night and staying in Portland, then heading up to Acadia on Saturday and spending the night there.

I need help on where to stay my one night in Portland. Also should I camp in Acadia or should I stay at a hotel? I checked the weather report and it looks to be in the 40-60s. For Sunday I was thinking about doing some shopping outlet and antiqueing. Are the shops open on Sundays, and where hsould we go. This might also overlap into Monday.

Any help on these questions would greatly be appreciated along with any other general advice and tips on Maine.

Can't help you out with where to stay in Portland. One good restaurant there is Street & Co.
In BH, there are lots of nice hotels and inns. Hard to advise without knowing your price range, though I'd expect rates would be cheap in early May.
There's not much shopping in BH--just 3 or 4 blocks of touristy shops selling T-shirts, and definitely no antiquing. The focus of BH is Acadia, so spend your time there. Have lunch at the Jordan Pond House. If you really want to hit the outlets, stop in Freeport.

For May, I'd stay in a hotel. The weather in the northeast has been CRAZY lately; hot and sunny swimming weather to an earthquake to snow and freezing temperatures - all within a week! So you simply can't predict!

If you have a little money to spend, the Danforth Inn in Portland is very nice. It's in a cool old brick mansion and is close to the Old Port, the art museum, etc.

As for price range I'm looking to spend around $150 a night. I think I'm going to hotel it at Bar Harbor also.
