Need accommodations at MIA Airport

My husband and I will be flying into Miami and will need to spend 1 night before continuing to our vacation. We will need to stay somewhere that has a shuttle to pick us up at the airport and then take us to the airport the next day. We would really appreciate any information on hotels near the airport that have this type of transportation. Can anyone out there help us out? Your suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Becky

There is actually a hotel right in the tower, and although I've never stayed there, friends have and say it is pretty good. It eliminates any anxiety about the transportation issue. And you can certainly get a taxi to and from there to go somewhere fun for dinner --it's hard to recommend their restaurant on top. Unfortunately, I can't come up with its actual name, but you should be able to do a search. There is a nice Hilton and a nice Marriot very close with shuttles, and lots of others as well, but if your times are close, I'd go for the one in the airport. Go to Coral Gables for dinner by taxi -- Norman's is one of the greatest new American restaurants in the country if you want to splurge what you save on the hotel.

Becky,
There is a hotel right at MIA - I mean right there, over terminal bldgs. I guess you could say. We stayed there once because of an early a.m. connection and last year we had 5 hours to kill between flights and we went over and had a delightful lunch (better than any food we had on the cruise we just got off of I might add). There is no need for a shuttle either. I think they just call it Miami Airport International Hotel. We also stayed 1 night at the Sheraton Gateway - hotel was OK but the neighborhood was no place I'd spend time in. Room was large, decent dining room, shuttle service also. I'd go for the hotel at the airport tho, less hassle.
There is a Ramada on the airport property. It's where a lot of the airline personnel stay. It has a 24 shuttle to the terminal. Also has a restaurant and pool. As long as you don't intend on leaving the hotel property it should be fine. There's nothing but airport buildings nearby.

Last time I went to Miami I stayed in that Ramada and it was great. I found a good deal on it at www.natravel.com. Hope thst helps!
