Need a weekend escape from LA within driving distance

Hey all,

I will be getting my master's degree in three weeks and I need a reward.

My husband and I were thinking of a weekend getaway to celebrate.

We've already been to Vegas and Solvang and are looking for other weekend destinations within driving distance.

Have any ideas? I was thinking San Diego.....

What's wrong with heading for the airport? Seattle? Vancouver? San Francisco? Even NYC! Each can be done on a 3-day weekend. Congratulations!

There are so many wonderful places to go to....Santa Barbara, Catalina Island, Palm Desert (before it gets too hot),all of these would make a wonderful get away and you could stay somewhere real nice.
