Need a "Suites" hotel in Midtown Manhattan
Looking for a reasonable (less than $400/nt) hotel near the Theatre District in Manhattan for a weekend in April. Nothing fancy, just need to have a separation between bedrooms. A Queen or King in one room and sofa bed in another room would work fine. Just need to be able to close door between rooms. Does anyone know of any hotels that might fit the bill? VRBO's won't work. One of the other guests had a bad experience and will never rent an apt again. So, we need a hotel. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Good thing - since short term rentals are almost always illegal in Manhattan The DoubleTree on Broadway would meet your needs. I know there are others but that is the only one I know personally. |
Radio City Apartments
Residence Inn |
There are many such options, but most will cost more than $400 in April. If you shop around right now, you might find a deal. The city has a DoubleTree, several Residence Inns, independent hotels like the Kimberly, the Beacon, and Radio City Apartments; the Affinia group of hotels offers several different types of suites in most of their hotels. You'll need to do a bit of searching, but there are many different options for you.

The Residence Inn Times Square does NOT have separation between beds - it's just a large room with a bed, sofabed and kitchen.
The Doubletree Times Square DOES have separate rooms - one with a bed, one with a sofabed. |
The Hyatt Times Square has that exact configuration in some of the rooms but it will cost you between 4-500 per night I'm afraid.

Thanks for all your help! Just booked the Doubletree. It's perfect!
