Need a hotel in NYC midtown for April for under $200/night
 

I normally use priceline but have been unsuccessful in getting 2 rooms for the weekend of April 8th. We are going to a show, sightseeing and shopping and would prefer a nice central local. Who's got the best recomendation for a good place under $200 or any deals you've seen lately?

Assume yuo mean two rooms at $200 each - not two at $100 each.

People have been reporting the city being very busy then. Have you tried affinia.com - they have several moderate places and you might find something for under $200. Also, someone reported getting the Super 8 for I think $159 in April.

The Millenium UN Plaza for $199 (quikbook.com) Not ideal location but not too much available.

I agree about the Affinia group but their website is not working for reservations.

Hotwire has a 4* in Mid-town East for $200 each; or $470 for two rooms including tax. The amenities don't exactly match anything on betterbidding.com, so can't say which hotel.

Try the Park South Hotel in Murray Hill.

Try the Hotel Gershwin. It is right off of 5th Ave., in the E. 20's, between the Empire State Building and the Flat Iron Building. They used to have a special weekend offer of $99 a night. The hotel is very Warholesque, decorated in Pop Art. It is clean.

I just booked a four star hotel for $162 a night on Hotwire. I got into the W Hotel on Lexington. It was marked best value!
