Need a Good Cup of Coffee

Please please.. Where can I get a really good cup of coffee in New York City... not a large chain...

This is a big city with lots of good places for a coffee. What part of town?

Here's a couple to start:

Sweetheart on Eighth Ave btw 13th & 14th. You might just catch me there in the morning...

DiRoberti's - 176 First Ave btw 10th & 11th. Been there since 1904 serving espresso and pastries.

The Coffee Cup, corner of 9th and 49th.

Patrick is right -- but it's the Coffee Pot, not the Coffee Cup. ;) But it's still at Ninth Avenue & 49th.

Any particular part of town? I like DT/UT on 88th & Second, or Cafe Mozart on 70th near Lincoln Center.

Jack's Stir Brewed at 138 W. 10th is another great one if you're in the East Village.

I must stop posting after midnight. Of course -- the Coffee Pot.

Oren's is a local chain of coffee shops in NYC the gets consistently good ratings. I know they have a number of locations around town--Grand Central Terminal, Third Ave and E 30th St--other locations as well.

Grey Dog on Carmine STreet (Greenwich village), also Gamin (which may now be called Cafe Henri), in various locations. I also like Push on 3rd AV and 23rd ST.

Thanks for the advice-- 9th and 49th is close to my job... anywhere in soho? greenwich village?
