Hi,

I am looking for suggestions for a private chauffered car service to transport two relatives, who are visiting Philadelphia for graduation this weekend, from Philadelphia to JFK Airport.

One of them has limited mobility, thus would prefer a sedan as opposed to a SUV or Minivan. They dont need a limo or anything, just a safe, clean car with a reliable driver who will transport them in a honest, reliable manner.

The date of travel is Monday, May 14 at around 3pm.

I called Dave's Limo and Philly Shuttle, but they are priced extremely high.

Can anyone please recommend any car services/drivers who may be able to help?

What do you mean by priced extremely high? That;s a long distance trip - and won;t be cheap. Have you looked at the car servicesl isted for the Philly and JFK airports? That will give you some alternatives.

How limited is the person's mobility? There is also the option of Amtrak to NYC and cab from there (about $60 plus the Amtrak fares).

That's going to be expensive. Why would they need a driver, though? Take Amtrak and then a cab to JFK. Or why don't they just fly in and out of Philly???

A shuttle such as Dave's or Philly Shuttle will be more economical than a private car. I have used both Dave's and Philly Shuttle and the last time I used them the price was about $38 one way per person. A private car service will probably be about $100 or more to JFK from Philadelphia, not including tip and tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Goethals Bridge.

Omr... it costs me $110 for a car service to take me from Manhattan to my house in Suffolk county Long Island. I would imagine that car service from Philly to JFK would be a heck of a lot more!

Private car service from Philly to NYC will be at least $200 (I've sent clients to near Trenton often enough to know it will be at least that.)

If it's $110 from LI into the City then $200 from Philly seems about right to me. That's why I figured the shuttle would be the most economical way to go.

I took a rental car to receive them from the airport, and then a friend dropped them off, I paid for gas and tolls!
