ncgrrl.....

ncgrrl: I have frustrated myself trying to post a reply to the FF 9-9 thread. It's not listing any opportunity for 'post' or 'e-mail'.

But I wanted so badly to tell you how very glad I am to here that your family is alive and that you have made contact!!

I am sorry for all they have experienced of late and the loss of their home! But I'm thrilled to hear they are OK!!

I too wanted to post my happiness that your family is alright ncgrrl, but like Belle I was no longer able to add a post to the FFR&R (do not know why Fodor's froze that thread). Anyway, I am so happy for you...thank you for sharing your wonderful news with us! Best wishes and take good care.

I want to add that I was also happy to hear your news, ncgrrl. I had a friend/in-law who was missing there for a week, as well, so I know how hard the waiting was. So glad to hear that your family is safe and sound.

Thanks all. Waiting to hear anything was the hardest part.

If the levees had held, New Orleans would have surrived without much damage. However, that didn't happen.

I'm not sure you can rate what is worse: no home (or a home in splinters) vs. a home that is standing in several feet of water.

Now if we could just get rid of that pesky Ophelia. On the news today they were talking with people relocated to the NC coast because of Katrina. Now they might have to pack up and find another new place to live.

In Sunday's Washington Post there was an article about what important papers you should take with you. I had guessed right about passport, titles, insurance policies and such, but they recommend tax paperwork from the past few years. Easier to rebuild your financial information.

Thanks for everyone's kind words during this, it really did mean a lot.

ncgrrl, I am so relieved to hear that your family is safe and sound! You're right ... waiting is the worst part ... Now, wonder how many inches of rain we're going to get here in the Triangle from Ophelia?????? :-( We need rain but NOT FLOODING!
