NC - Lake Lure hotel/inn
 

We are looking to make a last minute trip with the family to Lake Lure. We have older kids and prefer to be on the water, but don't like the looks of the big Inn. Liked the Lodge at Lake Lure, but it seems to be booked. Really want a place where we can sit on the inn/motel porch at night and look out onto the lake. Does this exist outside these two places? I know there is that Rumbling Bald, but all the accommodations seem to be away from the water. ANd it is just BIG. We are just looking for a little getaway. Maybe some hiking or skiing during the day then come back to the Lodge at night to relax.

Have you looked at VRBO for cabin/house rentals? That may work for what you are looking for.

There are tons of houses right on the Lake which should serve your purpose as starrs suggested. We use vrbo every time we visit that area.

We loved the Lodge at Lake Lure but I would agree that there are many homes that you should be able to find to rent for what you are wanting. have a great time!
