NC- Christmas things to do
We have recently moved from NJ to NC .In NJ, we knew all of the Christmas places to go; such as Longwood Gardens, Rockerfeller Christmas Tree, Light Displays. Where in NC are such places located?
Thanks Melissa |
Picking your own Christmas tree in Ashe County is a very traditional NC event.
Old Salem hosts a wonderful Christmas program. (check their website) Tanglewood Lights begins Thanksgiving weekend and goes through the Christmas holidays. Spectacular! Candle Tea operated by Home Moravian Church (check their website for dates) Welcome to North Carolina. |
Bilmore House in Asheville.
Town of McAdenvile (sp?) close to Charlotte, lites up the whole town. |
Thanks for the ideas

What part of NC are you in? It's a big state that extends from no-jackets-needed holiday events on the beach to bundle up hit-the-slopes holiday events in the mountains!

We are in Alexander County, just north of Hickory. Thanks for the welcome. We love it!!

McAdenville has a 'drive-thru' town light display. I also would suggest the Biltmore House & brunch @ The Grove Park Inn is always nice. Oftentimes, we also go to the beach around that time.

I'd second all the posts you've received. Can't think of anything better! :-) And most of these are in reasonable proximity to you, esp for a day trip.

Go Christmas shopping for wonderful pottery around Seagrove. You need to start soon!!

All sounds great
Thanks Melissa |
Once in your life in NC, you have to go to Biltmore (Asheville) to see it decked out for Christmas. Not cheap but worth it.
