NC Beaches - Vacation House Rental

Are there any other vacation home rentals sites that I should look at for renting a house on the NC coast? We are considering Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach for the first week in September. I have looked at vrbo.com and cyberrentals.com but didn't know if there were any local realtor websites.

Also, if anyone has any input on a town to consider, I'd appreciate it. We would most likely fly into Raleigh from Buffalo (we have free tickets on Southwest) and drive from there. There would be 4 adults and 3 small kids. We are mainly looking to relax, but also would like good restaurant options and unique shopping (not endless t-shirt shops). We also enjoy viewing wildlife - birds and other critters.

Thanks!

Do a search on Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach for the realty companies.

Thanks - I found some great looking places on intercoastalrentals.com

If anyone has an feedback on Wrightsville vs Carolina Beach, or another beach in NC other than the Outer Banks, please let me know...

Ocean Isle and Sunset are wonderful beaches. Better in my opinion that Wrightsville and Carolina with good restaurants nearby.

I vacation at Topsail Island, thirty miles up the coast from Wilmington. The top three realtors on the island are Ward's, Century 21 and Bryson and Associates. I prefer to vacation on Topsail in September. However, let me remind you that there is a fairly strong hurricane risk for the whole Carolina coast that time of the year. My family and I were chased from the island last September.

Thanks for your advice but we have decided to vacation a bit closer to home so that we can drive. We are planning on SW Vermont... Hopefully next year we can budget for NC.
