NBA tickets to sell.

Hi. Can anyone please help me? I'm located in Australia. We were on holiday in NYC and had tickets to the NBA. The game was postponed due to the blizzard. Ticketmaster won't give me a refund because they were TM+ tickets and the game was not 'cancelled'. I can't sell the tickets on Ticketmaster because I don't have a US bank account. I can't sell them on Stubhub because I don't have a US address. I don't want to lose my money. They're really great seats (SECTION 211, ROW 3, SEATS 13,14,15). Any suggestions on how I can sell these tickets? Thanks in advance.

ebay. All you need is a Paypal account - and to be sure you can deliver them on time.

Or Craig's List

Thanks guys.

eBay - you're more trustworthy on ebay than on craigslist.

sparkleban Feb 11th, 2015 01:44 AM

I can't get Craigslist to work. They want a USA or Canada phone number to 'verify' it first. So frustrating!

If anyone knows anyone who would like to buy these tickets, please message me. The game is at MSG on 3/3/15.

I would call Ticketmaster again. In December, Ticketmaster refunded our tickets to the Rockettes after we had to cancel because my older daughter had a bike accident and we were unable to get to NYC to see the show. Ticketmaster kept the fees, but generously refunded the ticket cost. When I called Ticketmaster I was given a special customer service phone number. Hope this helps.

Calling Ticketmaster again is a good idea; ask to speak to a supervisor.

Here's a longshot that occurred to me: could you call the hotel where you stayed and see if the concierge will take them off your hands?

sparkleban Feb 13th, 2015 02:07 AM

Thanks golfmom. Do you still have the special customer service phone number? Also, were your tickets TM+ tickets or 'normal' Ticketmaster tickets?

sparkleban Feb 13th, 2015 02:09 AM

Thank you, also, NewbE. Great idea, re the concierge!! Every time I contact Ticketmaster, I get someone different. I've requested a supervisor in the past, but got the same story.

sparkleban, Ticketmaster is always difficult to deal with. I have referred to Ticketmaster as the root of all evil, and I was exaggerating only slightly. I suggest calling them again and again because I have been given different answers by different reps in the past; they also always say that a supervisor will not tell you anything different, but that's not true, either. OTOH, a supervisor did actually call me back and solved my problem, so miracles do happen. Good luck!

I originally called Radio City Music Hall to find out my options when I knew we weren't going to make it. They gave me the Ticketmaster customer service number and it may well be the one listed on the Ticketmaster website. I just told them what happened and the representative said she would contact their claims department. A week later the credit showed up. I was pleased and maybe lucky.

It's such a headache! They're awful to deal with. They just go around in circles and tell me they can't refund TM+ tickets, but I can sell them via their website, but that I can't do this because I don't have a USA bank account!! Huh? I'm not keen on calling the USA number from Australia or this will end up costing me even more money, so have been contacting them via email. I will try the Australian Ticketmaster, but don't expect to get anywhere there, either. No response from the hotel Concierge yet, by the way. Thanks for your input. :-)

Best of luck!! I hope something breaks through for you.

nytraveler Feb 14th, 2015 04:49 AM

Did you ever try ebay? Paypal works internationally (i've sold things to people in europe and the transaction was vis Paypal).

Usually for just one or two transactions you can pay Paypal via a credit card - and don;t need to have it associated with a bank account.

May be worth trying.

sparkleban Feb 14th, 2015 02:52 PM

Hi nytraveler. Yes, I'm trying ebay at the moment, but no luck yet. I'll be very hesitant to ever use Ticketmaster again!! Certainly not in advance.

golfmom Feb 14th, 2015 04:03 PM

Ticketmaster + tickets are resale tickets. Would you be able to contact the person you bought them from to see if they could help.....maybe they had another interested party?

sparkleban Feb 14th, 2015 11:49 PM

Hi golfmom. Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't know the name of the person. I purchased them via Ticketmaster and they didn't tell me the name of the seller. I had never used Ticketmaster before and to be honest, I didn't really put much thought into TM+. I just thought they were great seats, so I bought them. After finding out 'the hard way' how it all works, I'll certainly never use TM+ again!!
