national parks
My wife and me want to visit some of the national parks and cities between 03\15\-04\01 2013.we have only 2 weeks starting in Los Angeles.
we intend to do itby car. which of the parks are "must " to be visited" and are they open to visit in this period of the year? can i buy park pass? thank you |
This should answer the pass question:
http://pass.usparkpermits.com/result...24510&r=google I would leave LA on the I-10 freeway east to San Bernardino and I-15, which takes you into southern Utah and Colorado where there are several eye-popping parks...catch the Grand Canyon on your way back. My favorites are Zion, Arches, and Bryce Canyon...but a few hours with a search engine will give you more ideas. |
First question: are you starting in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, or San Francisco?
Second question: what are your criteria for a "must-visit?" I might be enthralled by a place you would hate, and vice versa. Unless you tell us what YOU would want to see, all you'll get is statements on what WE would want to see. |
You can buy a park pass at the first park you enter and it will let you into all of them for a year.
Everyone who has spent vacations visiting parks have favorites, but Grand Canyon is a must see, and I would also want to see Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce, Death Valley and Yosemite but two weeks might not be enough time. |
Yosemite is probably #1 in my book.
It's what I would call stunning. It's slightly offseason so it won't be sold out, as they book 365 days in advance. |
emalloy listed my favorites.
