National Park Trip - September, 2022
 

Travel plan-please advise on how to fill in details.
Current Reservations - Drive to Zion from Moab Sept. 11, 12, 13 - stay at Zion Park Lodge
Sept. 14-Drive to Bryce; Depart Bryce on Sept. 16 for Grand Canyon South Rim
Sept. 16, 17 , 18-El Tovar
Sept. 19-fly home out of Phoenix
Sept. 7, 2022 - flight to Salt Lake City (pick up rental car); Our intention is to travel to MOAB, Arches, Canyonlands - possible stay at VooDoo Hilton;
Interested in knowing (have already visited SLC before ) if we should spend the day in Park City or someplace around there before traveling to MOAB on September 7. Would be interested in a suggested itinerary (hotels, visits in this area, restaurants). If there are thoughts also about trails in Zion, Bryce - 5 milish great trails. And any specific trail/site recommendations at Grand Canyon, would appreciate advice.

I usually try to plan a circular route ta avoid the drop fee on the car rental. If you want to see Phoenix,and do not mind the extra fee, then your plan would work. If you fly into either SLC or Las Vegas you could do a loop in either direction like

SLC to Moab to Grand Canyon south rim with perhaps a stop in Monument Valley, to Zion to Bryce to SLC.

Three nights at el Tovar is one more than most folks spend,but if you want to hike the rim trail (use the hop on/off bus if you do not want to do it all) , and down into the canyona way on Bright Angel and/or South Kaibob trail as well as the VCs and viewpoints along the rim then you might want all three nights. The dining in el Tovar has the nicest ambiance.

if you start from Vegas you could do a similar loop but swap Brice and Zion so you are closer to Vegas at the end of the trip.

If you look at some of the trip reports here you will find other routes,lodging,etc, and there are some great state parks you could stop at along the way.
