National Park Pass - where to get?
 

We were thinking of getting a national park pass since we will be going to Zion/Bryce/Capitol Reef/Canyonlands/Arches/Glen Canyon.<BR>Is it worth it to get a pass? If so, where can this be purchased? We will be leaving in a week so purchasing on the website is too close.<BR><BR>By the way, thanks for everyone's comments on Utah, I have picked up so much info for planning our trip here!!

You can purchase them directly at the park entrances. They cost $50 and definitely saved us money on our last trip. I know Zion and Bryce both charge a $20 entrance free. I'm don't know about the others but assume they are close to the same. We saved even more by using our AARP discount.

I'd call 888-GO-PARKS and ask if they sell them at park entrances. They are $50 for one year. At www.nps.gov you can find out the cost of each park you will visit to see if you'll save. Have a great trip.

Moji,<BR><BR>Yes, get the pass! The entrance fee for everyone in a vehicle at Zion is $20., Bryce is $20., Capitol Reef is $5. Canyonlands is $10. Arches is $10., Glen Canyon is $20. so you will save $35.00 buy purchasing the $50. National Park Pass. The pass is good for one full year from the month you purchase it so if you go to any other National Parks, National Monuments or National Historical sites during the next year they will also be free.<BR><BR>You can purchase it at the first National Park you enter. When you go to pay for your enterance tell them you want to buy the National Park Pass. It's that easy! Utahtea, I will be going to Kolob Canyon of Zion NP before Zion Canyon. Do you know if the park pass will be sold at that entrance ? thanks.

If for some reason there isn't a ranger at the entrance station collecting fees you can go into the Kolob visitor center and purchase one there.

I said Glen Canyon entrance was $20, but it's only $10.

my recollection from buying passes at the gate is that it is a CASH ONLY deal.

That's the way we always pay for ours and I do not know if they accept checks or charge cards.

We purchased ours in September 2002 at the Pertified Forest information center(our first stop of many in the Arizona and Utah area), using a credit card.

If anyone is 62 yrs old, you can buy a Golden Age Passport for $10.00 and it is good for the rest of your life at all National Parks.

If you have a National Park near you, I would purchase it before leaving on your trip. Many of the parks have pass only lanes which can speed up your entrance into the park. If your first park is popular you may have to wait in a line and then tie up the line while you are purchasing the pass. You can purchase them with credit cards. Check the list of parks at www.nps.gov. You may have forgotten that you have a park nearby. I thought I would have to buy mine over the internet completely forgetting that Jamestown NATIONAL PARK is 5 miles away. Duh!
