Nashville, TN 2 days or 3 days trip

Hello, We are going to Nashville in beginning of October. We will arrive at night. Should we stay 2 nights and spend one full day in Nashville or we need 3 nights for that. Nashville is one of our point on long trip (2 weeks) around of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia, even one city, Ashvelle in NC.
Our interests are just look city, we are planning to look Opry Hotel Garden, maybe Blue Bird Cafe.
Any other suggestions are welcome. We are couple in early 60's. Do not like shopping and we are not big fans of country music. Thanks.

Based on your likes and dislikes, I recommend two nights, one day.
I highly recommend a show at the Bluebird. You must be on line the moment tickets are available for your show.
Nashville has great restaurants.
The Hermitage and the Franklin Civil War battlefield are historic sites to visit.

Why are you even going to Nashville if you really aren't that interested in the music which is a such a big part of the city?

I guess I'd also suggest the Hermitage and if you are interested in Art Deco, stop by the Union Station Hotel, a fine example.

Nashville is a really fun city that we have just started to explore over the past year. I would still do an evening at the Opry, even if you aren't a huge country music fan. There is nothing like a live Opry show and they feature a variety of music styles and artists each show. If you like historic homes, in addition to the Hermitage, there is also Belle Meade plantation. You could also visit Centennial Park and see the only full scale model of the Parthenon. Nashville also has quite a few restaurants worthy of checking out.

Thanks a lot for responses. I meant that we are not crazy fans of country music but we listen it if anybody sing it on TV. And my wife likes show 'Nashville'.

We spent 3+ days sightseeing in Nashville and were busy the whole time.
Grand Ole Opry show (book backstage tour in advance) was great--and we're not big country music fans.
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Parthenon, Belle Meade Plantation, Hermitage, Cheekwood, Bicentennial Park, Frist Center, State Capitol, State Museum, Ryman Auditorium, walking tour of DT loaded into mp3 player.
We didn't get to Belmont or the Fort.

Hey Abram, thanks for advise. Looks like 2 fool days we will not be boring. Where from did you loaded DT walking tour?

One more question: Recommendation for hotel. We prefer safe place and affordable hotel.
