Naples/Vanderbilt Beach Area Restaurants
 

Hello -

Next week we are heading to La Playa Beach Resort on Vanderbilt Beach for a spur of the moment long weekend.

We know the area pretty well and have our favorites, but would love restaurant ideas and reviews. Would like to try some place that we haven't before.

Try the famous Roy's in Bonita...Its on rt 41 just north of Naples... if you close your eyes real tight, you can imagine being at Roy's in Hawaii... well not really, but the food was pretty good...

Flemings Steak House is near by and very good, even if it is a "chain" started by Paul Fleming, the one who also started P.F. Chang's.
Have you had ever had grouper ruebens at Buzz's Lighthouse? On the bay side just down the street from LaPlaya towards the Ritz; it's a sort of hole in the wall, casual place.

Hi ... we just got back from a week at LaPlaya and really enjoyed it. The best meal we had was actually at the Bayside Restaurant which is right on one of the bays in the Venetian Village just down the road from LaPlaya. (Their Mahi-Mahi was fabulous!) This was our first time visiting Naples and we really loved it!

The best crab cakes I ever had were at The Turtle Club down the street from La Playa. Had a delicious meal at The Bistro located in a mall at 41 and Pineridge, I think.
