Naples Restaurants

Traveling to Naples in late April. Looking for good restaurants. Any on the water?

We were just in Naples last week. There was a restaurant called Docks that's right on the water. It's a pretty casual atmosphere with great food. Good for families. Also, there was a cute place called Zoes. We didn't end up eating there, but It looked a little more upscale with a hip crowd. The restaurant turns into a club later in the evening. Both restaurants are on 5th street. Hope this helps. Have fun!!

I'll give you 4 picks:
1. tommy bahamas- very cool with ultra tropical feel, excellent grazing type food, their own beers, great Martini menu. We just love the ambiance and we just love sitting outside with the little italian lights and steel guitar music.
2. Charley's Crab: this is new to Naples and is not just a copy of the East coast restaurants. Excellent seafood and located on the water. One of the best of the new restaurants.
3.Savannah: incredible food by the chef from Lepenasse in NYC. Southern, ante-bellum ambiance.
4.The Grill bring a bag of money. Ritz Carlton hotel which is not very Florida-like to my view but the food is absolutely top notch but it ought to be.

If you want a dinner right on the beach you could drive down to Marco Island and have cookout type dinner at the Marriott Hotel's Quinns on the Beach. We are not talking gourmet here but the view makes up for it.
I have quite a few suggestions for you. First of all, if you will be treating your host to dinner......I'll give you the most expensive restaurants. If you will be requesting your host to buy you dinner, I can point you to the McDonalds website for the Naples area locations.

For a lovely meal on the water, why not try piloting a pontoon boat into the gulf, toss out an anchor and chow down on some salt water taffy.

The Dock restaurant (on the water) that Pam may be referring to is on 12th Ave South at the City Dock. Zoes (not on the water) is on 5th AVE (not Street)South. Streets and Avenues are easily confused here. The Riverwalk Fish and Ale House (casual) and Merriman's (a little more formal) are both at Tin City (a tourist shopping area on Naples Bay)which is at 5th Ave South at 11th Street South. Anyone in Naples can direct you to Tin City. I second Sharon's suggestions of Tommy Bahamas (on 3rd Street South in Old Naples) and Charley's Crab (10th Avenue South at 10th Street South, on Naples Bay). The best restaurant in town, pricey and worth it, is Chardonnay, Tamiami Trail North, a little north of Coastland Mall, on the other side of the street.
