Naples, Fl July 30-Aug 5

Going to Naples in the next week. We have a place to stay. Looking for ideas/activities for kids ages, 10 and 14.

Here's one thought. The highly acclaimed "Kidzact" program of the Naples Players is presenting the musical FAME by the teen workshop group at 7:30 on August 3, 4, and 5th plus a matinee at 2 on the 5th.
You need to call for tickets, which are $6 for students and $12 for adults (I think).
239-263-7990. I'll be there the night of the 3rd.

Sadly there aren't a lot of teen activites here, particularly out of season.

Do go to the Naples Zoo (the newly born monkey is getting a lot of press.)
Do the walk at Corkscrew Sanctuary.

What about the new water park in Naples?

Take them on a swamp buggy ride at Babcock- they'll get to see LOTS of swamp critters, plus pet a baby alligator! It was one of my kids' favorite places. For a nice beach, head to Vanderbilt, just north of Naples. It's a protected park and has shady picnic areas as well as clean bathrooms and ample parking.

Wow, bethcrus, I know I've been out of town since mid May and just got back last week, but I never even heard about that place.

Here's what I just found: Sounds like fun.

Go to the Zoo. The baby monkey is adorable but it was hard to get a good look at it. You will need to take the water ride to see it.
