Napa with 2 teens

We have decided on the spur of the moment to go to Napa next week for my birthday. It is a brithday biggie and my plan had been to ignore it. Anyway, we are going to go and we are going to take our 2 teenagers (age 15)with us.

Both the Yountville Inn and the Inn at Southbridge have rooms available, would you recommend one over the other and if so why? We plan to eat at the French Laundry which is in Yountville, but I thought that St. Helena might have a bit more to do within walking distance from our hotel that the kids could check out on their own.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I hope you have reservations already in place for French Laundry as they are fully reserved for the next 30 days.

For a similar experience, try Cyrus in Healdsburg. It has 2 Michelin stars and won't cost you $1000 for 4 people.

Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza has some good deals going on now, including package with Cyrus.

Thank you for the response.

Yes, we have our FL reservations and are debating whether to take the kids or not (one wants to go and one doesn't care). We thought about Cyrus but thought it being a special occasion we'd spring for the additional expense.

We are flying into Sacramento (much chepaer than SFO or OAK, $198 vs $350) from Austin and thought that the drive to Healdsburg might take a bit longer than we wanted to do on an early morning return on Monday. We haven't been to Napa/Sonoma in almost 10 years so we have no idea what to expect with traffic.

Thanks again

I think with the teens I would stay inSt Helena because it's more "walkable" and have a more concentrated fun atmosphere.

While visiting St. Helena you should try Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen for lunch or dinner. Great food and not over the top.
