Napa Valley Honeymoon
 

Hi, <BR> <BR>My fiance and I are planning a 3 or 4 day stop in Napa Valley on our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon next June. Can anyone provide suggestions on a place to stay? Particularly a specific region, and then a great place to stay within that region. We've both never been there before so we don't know which area is best. As far as a place to stay, we're looking for someplace romantic (but not TOO rural), has some nice extras (without completely breaking the bank!), and I know I would love to relax in a jacuzzi!! <BR> <BR>Thanks for your help.

My first reaction was to suggest, not Napa, but Sonoma and staying in Healdburg at the Madrona Manor hotel. But, you'll need to look at it to see if it would "break the bank." It's a wonderful place--white Victorian building with beautiful grounds--and is known for its dining room. The town of Healdsburg is just the right size and there are great wineries around. However, if that is too expensive (and hotels/B&Bs in both wine areas are pricey) look at staying in Yountville in the Napa Valley either at Maison Fleurie--walking distance to town, bicycles, hot tub etc. or the Wine Country Inn in St. Helena. Lolly, My husband and I just returned from a wonderful weekend in the Napa Valley. We stayed at the Vintage Inn in Yountville; we would definitely stay there again. Our room was beautiful, with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. The property is large, closer to a hotel atmosphere than a B&B, but the grounds are very nice. There is also a delicious complimentary continental breakfast (not cold cereal and bagels - lox, brie, coffeecake, etc.) <BR> <BR>We thought the location was perfect; the Vintage Inn is in downtown Yountville, within walking distance of many restaurants. There is a sister property, Villagio, down the street, which I believe is relatively new. We didn't like the grounds as much as Vintage, but we did enjoy some time at the spa; it is smaller than other spas in the area, but it still provided a luxurious treat!

Hi Lolly, <BR>I will put in my two cents and suggest La Belle Epoque B&B in Napa. They have many different rooms to choose from and they are all described on the web page. They have their own wine tasting at 7 pm in the wine celler w/ homemade snacks. The breakfasts are WONDERFUL and are sit down. You get to speak with other guests at the B&B and gives you a good opportunity to see which wineries other couples have visited. You can opt to eat outside on the patio for breakfast also. The owners were super friendly and helpful. I believe there is some sort of huge winery museum etc. being built nearby which would also be worth checking out. I am not sure when they plan to open however. Let me know if you have questions.
